about

A raw track with no hook, just straight bars discussing how I feel about today's "rap game"...

lyrics

Let's keep it real, I'll get straight to the point
I'm sick of everything I hear, this shit is honestly noise
I used to look up to the rappers back when I was a boy
Now I'm a man and all these rappers fucking got me annoyed
I take it personal, my favorite emcees were always surgical
Verbally reversing words you'd think were irreversable
On your souls the rap gods will not be merciful
And they won't give a fuck about your cash or your convertible
And that's real, don't give a damn bout how you feel
Bragging bout your wheels when half your hood ain't got a meal
Yeah that's real, don't understand all the appeal
You'd rather rob and steel
Than have respectable ideals, man it's twisted
It's sad cuz in the end I really get it
Sounds cool to be ghetto until you're in it, man it's vicious
Cuz the rappers who was winning
Rapped about the way they did it
Cuz they had to for a minute
Just so they could keep living
But now the image gets interpreted in all the wrong ways
The kids all emulate it except that it's all fake
They meet up with their friends in little groups they call gangs
And mumble rhymes about their drugs and call it "rap", it's all lame
They saw the path and they made it a trophy
But they're all acting, they're fake and they're phony
They've got no passion but drinking and smoking
That's why they keep missing the mark, they're nowhere near it remotely
This shit's ridiculous
I know I'm not the only one who's hearing this
What happened to the days when rappers had to be meticulous
The standard that we set for rappers seems to be diminishing
And Imma raise the bar, just gotta do my due dilligence
I guess in a sea of morons I've gotta be conspicuous
The anger that it brings me has me almost turning villainous
I'm sick of all their mollys and their xannies and their percocets
It's almost like they pride themselves on wrecklessness and ignorance
And that's true, ain't no telling what they'll do
For fifteen fucking minutes or a couple hundred views
Yeah that's true, I don't know how that shit's cool
Maybe I'm too old and all they shit is just too new
To me it's funny how y'all hype up some wack shit
Get big off shock value, y'all just riding reactions
Since it did numbers they all call it a classic
But Imma be real, most shit is way below average
To put it all together you ain't gotta be smart
If you make someone a leader of a genre of art
Who doesn't really have it's better interests in heart
You cannot act surprised when things start falling apart
I said to put it all together you ain't gotta be smart
But if you make someone a leader of a genre of art
Who doesn't really have it's better interests in heart
You cannot act surprised when things start falling apart
